What does it cost?
We are asking all of our members to pay $120 dues for our fall season. We hope this will be about the same for our spring season as well, but it may fluctuate depending on if we have additional expenses such as other instrumentalists, music costs, space costs, etc. If you are unable to attend full time or are not sure yet if you want to commit to joining us, you can pay a $10 per rehearsal fee to drop in. As a courtesy to choir members who commit to attending regularly and paying their full dues, our director reserves the right to decide if you will participate in our concert if you are unable to make it to most of the rehearsals. Our goal is to give our performers and audience a quality musical experience, so if you cannot be present at rehearsals, you are responsible for making sure you can practice the music on your own. We are a small start-up not-for-profit group here, so it would really help us out if you can pay up front with your full dues! You get a discount if you can do this for us, so that makes it $100 if you are able to pay by September 18th, 2017.

What is included for the dues I pay?
We will have approximately 12 rehearsals leading up to our magnificent holiday concert performance in collaboration and cooperation with Orchestra Northern Arizona. You will be provided with a 3-ring binder of enchanting music that is yours to keep, including any additional music we pursue this semester separate from the pieces we will sing in the concert. We will be collaborating with local musicians/artists as plans become finalized, and we are actively collaborating with Orchestra Northern Arizona, which is a partnership we hope to continue long into the future.

Why does it cost so much?
There are a lot of costs associated with running the choir: paying the accompanist, renting the space, buying the sheet music, maintaining the website, sound equipment, promotions, etc.,

Do I have to be able to read music to join?
Reading music will help a lot, but if you have a good ear, and work hard, you'll be able to pick up the parts. This is not an "everybody can sing choir", but with that said, there are no auditions, and if you can carry a tune, you are welcome to join us. The music literature we will be performing will be at an appropriate level for what the choir can do. Please note that we may ask you to sing separately for our director, either in private or during a rehearsal (based on your preference) so that we can hear your specific vocals and determine the best placement for you within the group.

Are children welcome at rehearsals?
We want you to be free to engage fully with the rest of the choir, think of it as your special time away from your day to day life.
If your children are able to engage in the choir without supervision, and want to be part of the choir, great! We recommend that they are at least 15 years old.

Are scholarships or reduced price subscriptions available?
We are running on a tight budget. We do accept donations if you wish to help cover the costs of those who can't pay. If there are funds available, we will determine scholarships on a case by case basis. Send us an email.

What if I can't make it to the performances?
We try to make our scheduled performances known as soon as possible so our members can plan ahead. The date for our fall/winter season concert is December 9th, 2017 at 2:00pm (1:00pm call time), in partnership with Orchestra Northern Arizona. We will be counting on all of our choir members to be there, as having reduced numbers from what we are used to rehearsing with significantly impacts our sound. But we do understand that sometimes things come up and we won't hold it against you if you are not able to make it. ;-)

Is this just a party choir?
Although fun is a big part of who we are, the primary emphasis is to create a high level musical experience for audience and choir alike. It will require work and dedication on your part, but the results will be so worth it!
